History
Broadmoor was founded on a 200-acre parcel of land originally owned by the Puget Mill Company, and the first home was built in the neighborhood in 1920. Some of Seattle’s foremost architects were commissioned to design homes for the community in the early 1930’s and building continued for several decades. Points of Interest
Broadmoor’s main attraction is its 18-hole golf course and accompanying private club. While Seattle neighborhood does not have its own business district, it is within walking distance of Madison Park and Lake Washington, and is just a short trip to the nearby Capitol Hill and Montlake neighborhoods. The Washington Park Arboretum practically serves as Broadmoor’s backyard, offering miles of walking trails and access to the Japanese Garden.
