Festival of Short Films: January 3-14th

As part of the 2023 Sundance Film Festival Short Films Tour, Northwest Film Forum will showcase a 95-minute collection of seven films selected from the festival program. The diverse lineup includes fiction, non-fiction, documentaries, and animation from around the world. With only 64 films chosen out of 10,978 submissions, the festival’s Short Film Program is a platform for discovering talented directors. Presented by Shutterstock, the 2023 Sundance Film Festival Short Film Tour is featuring seven curated films, including two Festival Award- winning titles.

Live Art Competition: January 13th

MLK Celebration: January 15th

The Washington State History Museum is presenting “Where Blooming Flowers Meet the Sky” by Darryin B. Cunningham, a theater performance in celebration of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.’s legacy. The narrative follows Zhuli, a young artist, as she journeys back to the civil rights era of the 1960s, exploring the lives of her ancestors. This inclusive performance is open to all ages and is free for everyone to enjoy and learn from.

Cirque du Soleil: January 17- 20th
